A Clinical Study of the Magnetic Plaster in Orthopaedic field

Abstract

|
Recently, there has been much study about the relations..aip between magnetics and human body, and various magnetotherapies were commercialized in Japan. This study is to assess the clinical effectiveness of magnetic plaster in 118 patients suffering from vague pain on the knee, back and shoulder region.
Authors observed the subjective condition by double blind method for statistical analysis.
The results were as follows:
1. Out of 136 cases, pain improvement were 90 cases (66%), subjective symptom improvement were 87 cases (64%). Statistical significance was noted on the back, the knee, the shoulder as compared with control group.
2. There was no statistical significance among the effectiveness of the back, the knee, and the shoulder.
3. There was no differences in effect with initial pain and pain duration.
4. The outcome of effect was common on the 5th day.
5. No specific side effects were presented.
